The Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail’s Corrections Division is responsible for the humane treatment of all prisoners housed
at the facility. Captain Shane Pritchett is the Chief of Custody whose responsibility is to ensure that all prisoners are housed
according to their Due Process Rights.
The Corrections Division is responsible for the fair and firm care, custody, and control
of all sentenced and non-sentenced inmates charged to the custody of the Sheriff. The Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail is designed
with two separate buildings with a bed capacity for 200 prisoners at the main building and 76 beds at the annex facility. The Daviess/DeKalb
County Regional Jail provides a complete range of services for all inmates while they are incarcerated.
A fifty-five person custody
staff has been allocated by the Jail Administrator to provide supervision of prisoners incarcerated in the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional
Jail. The Corrections Division consists of a Jail Administrator, One Captain, three Lieutenants, four Sergeants, three corporals,
and 43 Detention Officers.
The jail staff is responsible for all transportation of prisoners to and from the facility and also to Court
proceedings.
